The D'Addario Organic Select Jazz Unfiled alto saxophone reed is made from USDA Certified Organic cane, grown without pesticides or synthetic fertilisers. The thick blank and spine without a filed cut produce a warm, versatile tone with a full tonal spectrum and good projection. The unfiled cut provides more support than the Filed variant, making the reed more broadly versatile beyond jazz. The S/M/H division within each numeric strength allows precise mouthpiece pairing. Strength 3H is the hardest variant within numeric strength 3 with firm resistance for professional players who play powerfully and seek a full, projected sound.
