Adams Music Centre - Together in Music

Time to upgrade your musical instrument?

You grow as a musician. Your instrument does not grow with you. Trade in your old instrument and continue playing on an instrument that suits you.

You have played your current instrument for years. But there comes a moment when your current instrument holds you back. The tone lacks depth. The response reacts slowly to your technique. Or you are simply ready for something new. All signs that it is time to upgrade your instrument.

At Adams, you take that step without hassle. You trade in, we deduct the value directly and you go home with an instrument that supports your growth instead of holding you back.

Frequently asked questions

How long should I wait before upgrading?+

Most players upgrade after 1 - 3 years, depending on progress.

Is upgrading worth it?+

Yes, especially when your instrument limits sound quality.

Can a beginner use an intermediate instrument?+

Yes, but it may be harder to control initially.

Can I get a trade-in quote without visiting? +

You can use our online form for an estimate, but we invite you to our stores in Ittervoort or Lummen for a final physical appraisal by our master technicians.

Get advice when upgrading your musical instrument

In the stores in Ittervoort and Lummen, specialists who are musicians themselves are ready to help you. They know which instrument suits your playing style. They do this by listening to how you play and paying attention to your technique.

Bring your own instrument, mouthpiece, ligature, reeds or sticks to the store. That way you can compare instruments with what you are used to using. This allows you to make a fair comparison yourself.

Our advisors take their time. You may try several instruments side by side until you are satisfied with your choice. Would you like to make an appointment? Then we will ensure the advisors have sufficient time and that all instruments you want to test are ready. Share your wish list in advance, so we can check what we have in stock and what else is possible. When do you take the step towards a professional musical instrument?

Trade in your musical instrument and upgrade immediately

Bring your instrument to the store. Our experts assess it on the spot and provide a fair appraisal based on its current condition. They know what to look for and give you a clear picture of its value. No creating advertisements, no strangers at your home, no negotiating via second-hand platforms like Marktplaats or 2dehands.be. You trade it in, and we deduct the value directly when purchasing your new instrument. It can be that simple.

Your instrument gets a second life. After trade-in, it is carefully inspected by our repair specialists, maintained and repaired where necessary and then sold to a new owner. In this way, we help beginning musicians and advanced players obtain quality instruments.

Choose your favorite in our test rooms

In the test rooms, you can play in complete peace and quiet. You hear what an instrument does without background noise, without other customers around you.

We work with leading brands such as Yamaha, Bach, Selmer, Adams and Pearl. The range extends from accessible student models to professional instruments for conservatory students and orchestra members. Brass players will find trumpets, trombones, euphoniums and tubas here. Woodwind players can choose from saxophones, clarinets, flutes, oboes and bassoons. Drummers test complete sets, hardware and cymbals.

Musicians from across the Benelux, Germany, and France visit our Music Centres due to the unique combination of stock and expertise.

You compare multiple instruments side by side, at your own pace. Instruments cannot be properly assessed through photos and an online description. At Adams, they are physically available in the store. Missing a specific model? The advisors know what is available in our other branch or what we can arrange at short notice.

Our advisors are musicians themselves. They know the instruments not only technically, but also from their own experience on stage and in the practice room. They hear which instrument suits your playing style and can explain why one model works better for you than another.

Not sure yet what exactly you are looking for? The advisor helps you choose based on what you play, how you play and what you want to achieve. Here you can read the difference between a student model and a professional instrument.

Accessibility

Visiting Adams is not something you do on a whim, especially if you are travelling from further away or bringing a large instrument. Here are the questions we get asked most often.

Do I need to make an appointment for an upgrade?+

We recommend it. That way we can make sure a specialist is available and that the instruments you want to try are ready and waiting in one of our test rooms.

How accessible are the shops for large instruments?+

Ittervoort is right next to the A2, Lummen is on the E313/E314. At both locations you can park for free directly at the entrance, which makes it easier when you have to carry a tuba or drum kit.
