Description
The Schilke 14A4-Z is a Z Series trumpet mouthpiece based on the popular 14A4A. With a cup diameter of 17.09mm, a shallow A cup and semi-flat #4 rim, the cup and rim characteristics match the 14A4A. The key differences are the extra-tight 'Z' backbore, which provides more resistance than the standard 'a' backbore, and the lighter contour exterior profile of the Z Series, which delivers a quicker response. Schilke describes the Z Series as "Tighter and Brighter." The 14A4-Z is the right choice when you want the 14A4A setup with added resistance, increased focus and a tighter, more controlled feel in the extreme upper register.
