Schilke 14

Description

The Schilke 14 is a Standard Series trumpet mouthpiece with a cup diameter of 17.02mm. The designation '14' without further letters indicates a standard C cup, standard #3 rim and standard 'c' backbore, the baseline configuration in the Schilke system. This makes it a versatile mouthpiece that performs reliably across a wide range of playing situations, from wind band and chamber music to amateur ensemble work. The Schilke 14 is the right choice for players who want a dependable, well-balanced mouthpiece in the medium diameter range without a specific cup depth or backbore preference. Players leaning towards lead work should consider the 14A4A or 14A4 instead. The standard configuration also makes the 14 a sound starting point for developing players.
