The Vandoren V16 alto saxophone reed was developed in 1993 at the request of American jazz musicians who wanted a Java reed with even more cane. The thicker tip and longer palette compared to the Traditional give the V16 a brighter, more percussive sound that is particularly well suited to jazz and contemporary styles of music. Strength 3.5 offers firm resistance and is suited to professional saxophonists seeking a powerful, brilliant jazz sound with maximum projection. Requires a well-developed embouchure and strong airstream. Supplied in a box of 10 in Flow Pack packaging.
