The Vandoren V16 alto saxophone reed was developed in 1993 at the request of American jazz musicians who wanted a Java reed with even more cane. The thicker tip and longer palette compared to the Traditional give the V16 a brighter, more percussive sound that is particularly well suited to jazz and contemporary styles of music. Strength 2.5 is the most commonly chosen mid-range option in the V16 range: enough resistance for a full, brilliant jazz sound with good projection while retaining the characteristic immediate response. Well-suited to advanced and professional jazz saxophonists. Supplied in a box of 10 in Flow Pack packaging.
