The Vandoren Java Filed Red alto saxophone reed was developed to expand on the original Java, retaining all of its characteristics while offering greater sonic possibilities. The reed is more flexible than the standard Java and has slightly more tonal body, producing a full, rich and centred sound with excellent projection and an extremely precise attack. Strength 1.5 offers marginally more resistance than the lightest option and is a practical choice for saxophonists who want to combine suppleness and tonal richness with a touch more volume.
