The Selmer Premium is Henri Selmer Paris's new reed for alto saxophone, developed in collaboration with musicians from a wide range of genres. The profile is engineered for greater density, roundness and warmth of tone, and each reed is individually scanned using a Keyence laser profile reader to improve consistency within the box. Strength 2.75 sits between the medium-soft and medium strengths and suits players who find 2.5 slightly too flexible but are not yet fully at home on strength 3. The quarter-strength graduation makes it easier to find a reed that matches the mouthpiece opening precisely. Packaged without plastic, including a reusable reed holder made from bio-based material.
