Description
The Austin Custom Brass 1.5C is a trumpet mouthpiece by Trent Austin, mouthpiece maker in Kansas City and a recognised specialist in custom brass mouthpieces. The cup diameter of 16.97 mm and the medium cup depth are close to the Bach 1½C, but the rim contour differs deliberately. Adams brass specialist Marc Clout confirms what the maker himself describes: the rim is noticeably softer and more graduated than on standard 1½C mouthpieces, making longer playing sessions more comfortable without any effect on tone production. The "S" backbore provides a well-balanced airflow. This mouthpiece is hand-finished based on CAD designs and continuously refined through player feedback. Silver-plated brass.
