Description
The Schilke 18 Heavyweight is a Heavyweight Series trumpet mouthpiece with a cup diameter of 17.52mm, standard C cup, #3 rim and 'c' backbore. The additional mass of the Heavyweight profile produces a darker, subtly more focused sound and increased projection at louder dynamic levels. Schilke describes the 18 as a mouthpiece where the high point is nearer to the centre, making it feel smaller than it actually is. The 18 Heavyweight is the right choice for players who want to play on the 18 diameter and benefit from what the extra mass adds: greater tonal depth, focus and control.
