The Vandoren V16 alto saxophone reed was developed in 1993 at the request of American jazz musicians who wanted a Java reed with even more cane. The thicker tip and longer palette compared to the Traditional give the V16 a brighter, more percussive sound that is particularly well suited to jazz and contemporary styles of music. Strength 3 is a firm mid-range option that supports powerful, expressive playing with a full, brilliant sound and good projection.
