The YAS/YTS-480 saxophones represent the next step forward. With slightly more resistance, they offer an authoritative and powerful sound while maintaining excellent flexibility, thanks to their separated key guards.
Ergonomics, playability, and intonation are outstanding—as you would expect from Yamaha.
Based on the popular YAS/YTS-475 models, the new YAS/YTS-480 saxophones feature an improved low B–C# connection for more precise adjustment. Additionally, the updated octave key system (borrowed from the 62 Series) allows for the use of custom necks.
YAMAHA Saxophones
‘’Expressive Tones, Deep Warm Sounds & Accurate Intonation’’
Yamaha offers a complete line of saxophones to suit every level of player from the beginning band student to the seasoned pro. Through the Yamaha ideology of 'vertical integration', the highest level Custom saxophone models are designed first, and elements of those models are carried down into the professional, intermediate, and even standard level saxophones. Through this process, Yamaha designers take great care to make sure that each saxophone model combines the ideal levels of form, function and value for the saxophonist who will be the recipient of that instrument.
Intermediate Series
Intermediate
Recommended by band directors across the nation, Yamaha intermediate saxophones provide high-quality yet value-conscious features that make the transition from beginner saxophones comfortable and enjoyable for the growing saxophonist. Developed through the Yamaha ideology of 'vertical integration', many of the design features found on Yamaha intermediate saxophones were adopted from top level Custom saxophones, offering professional features at an intermediate price.
