Description
The K&M 168/1 is a round steel tuning fork with a length of 120 mm and a diameter of 4.5 mm. The fork vibrates 440 times per second and so gives the note A at the standard pitch of 440 Hz. The steel is nickel-plated. You strike the fork gently against your knee or another soft surface and hold it near your ear, or place the stem on a wooden surface for a louder tone. A tuning fork works without batteries and fits in any case. Because you match the tone by ear yourself, you train your intonation at the same time. The tuning fork is suitable for musicians, students and teachers looking for a simple reference tone at 440 Hz.
