Schilke 17

Description

The Schilke 17 is a Standard Series trumpet mouthpiece with a cup diameter of 17.33mm, standard C cup, #3 rim and 'c' backbore. Schilke describes the 17 as a compromise of all medium characteristics, making it an excellent medium to large diameter mouthpiece. The 17 is the right choice for players who want a larger cup diameter than the 15 or 16C4 while keeping the balanced, free-blowing character of the standard configuration. Well suited for wind band, orchestral and ensemble work where a fuller, broader sound is wanted without changing to a specialist cup depth or rim profile. A practical step up for players whose embouchure suits a more generous diameter.
