Description
The Schilke 14A4 is a Standard Series trumpet mouthpiece with a cup diameter of 17.09mm. It shares the shallow A cup, semi-flat #4 rim and throat size of the popular 14A4A, but features a standard 'c' backbore rather than the tighter 'a'. This results in a more open, less resistant feel in the upper register. The 14A4 is the right option when you want the core characteristics of the 14A4A with slightly more airflow and freedom. A well-established choice for lead playing in big band, fusion and commercial contexts where the player prefers a less compressed response without changing cup depth.
