Description
The Schilke 13A4 is a Standard Series trumpet mouthpiece with a cup diameter of 16.76mm, identical to the 13A4A except for the standard 'c' backbore, which replaces the tighter 'a'. This produces a more open, free-blowing feel for lead playing in the upper register, with less resistance than the 13A4A. The shallow A cup and semi-flat #4 rim remain unchanged. The 13A4 is the right option when you want the core characteristics of the 13A4A but prefer a less compressed response. A practical choice for big band, show and commercial work where you need upper register range and endurance with slightly more freedom of blow.
