Schilke 10A4

Description

The Schilke 10A4 is a Standard Series trumpet mouthpiece with a cup diameter of 16.43mm. It shares the shallow A cup, semi-flat #4 rim and throat size of the 10A4A, but features a standard 'c' backbore rather than the tighter 'a'. This results in a more open, less resistant feel while keeping the lead characteristics of the shallow cup and flat rim. The 10A4 is the right option when you want the core properties of the 10A4A with slightly more airflow and freedom. A practical choice for lead playing in big band and commercial contexts where a somewhat freer response is preferred over the tighter feel of the 10A4A.
