Description
The Denis Wick DW5505C is a straight mute for tenor trombone with a copper bottom. The cone is handmade from spun, high-purity aluminium. The design goes back to the DW5505 from 1968. The copper bottom makes this version heavier than the all-aluminium model. For the trumpet version, Denis Wick describes the effect as a slightly warmer tone that keeps its carrying power. Intonation stays accurate in every register and the blowing feel barely changes. Torn between the DW5505 and the DW5505C? Try them side by side in one of our test rooms. The DW5505C suits trombonists looking for a straight mute with a slightly warmer, fuller colour than the standard aluminium version.
