The Bruno Tilz 214-7C-1 is a silver-plated trombone mouthpiece from the Spezial Tilz 214 line, with a small bore of 5.8 mm and a cup diameter of 25.00 mm. This makes it a suitable mouthpiece for tenor trombone in jazz and light music, where a more compact tone and quicker articulation are desired. The medium-shallow cup supports a clear attack and makes it easier to play in the upper register without losing control. The small bore (Schaft 1) gives slightly more resistance than the large-bore variants in the same 214 line, which some players find helpful for stability. This trombone mouthpiece is hand-turned in small batches in Neustadt an der Aisch, with Tilz carefully checking each piece for cup shape and bore.
