Description

The Ayasa F# Low Pygmy 21 is a handpan in the Low Pygmy scale, made from Ember Steel by Ayasa Instruments in Almere, the Netherlands. The Pygmy scale is one of the oldest and most iconic handpan scales, pentatonic in structure with a meditative character. The "Low" variant extends the range downward: the lowest note sits at D3, while the scale reaches up to C#6 across 21 notes. This exceptionally wide range accommodates deep drones as well as bright, bell-like high notes. Ember Steel is Ayasa's proprietary alloy, offering greater warmth, sustain, and stability in varying climates compared to standard nitrided steel. The patina changes colour over time; sound and tuning are unaffected.
