Description
The Ayasa D Aegean 18 is a handpan with 18 notes in the D Aegean scale, made from Ember Steel by Ayasa Instruments in Almere, the Netherlands. The Aegean scale has a bright and open sound. With 11 notes on the top and 7 on the bottom, the range extends from B2 to F#5, offering ample space for both melodic and harmonic playing. Ember Steel is Ayasa's proprietary steel alloy: warmer in tone, with more sustain and better stability in varying temperatures and humidity than standard nitrided steel. The patina changes colour over time without affecting sound or tuning.
