The Mapex Aquiles Priester PsychOctopus is a signature snare drum from the Artist Collection, developed with and for Brazilian metal drummer Aquiles Priester. The snare drum features an 11-ply hybrid shell of maple and padouk, in a 14x8" format, and is aimed at drummers who want a deep, powerful tone that cuts through heavy guitar mixes. The SONIClear 45° bearing edge gives a flatter head seat and a wider tuning range. Four air vents on the nodal line preserve shell resonance. The cylinder-drive strainer runs on a self-lubricating bearing with micro-lock tension knobs for precise adjustment. The gun metal grey model features black-brushed hardware and the 3D-printed PsychOctopus badge, Priester's signature mark. This snare drum suits progressive and power metal, where projection and volume come first.
