In this workshop, you’ll learn how to replace timpani heads, properly adjust the timpani so the pedal moves smoothly, calibrate the tuning gauges, and receive many more valuable insights about the instrument.

Luk Artois
In 2000, Luk became principal timpanist with the Beethoven Academy. Since 2003, he has held the same position with the orchestra of La Monnaie Opera House. He also performs with ensembles focused on early and contemporary music, including Hermes Ensemble, Il Fondamento, Currende, and Anima Eterna. With this friendly top percussionist, timpani will no longer hold any secrets!
