Jazzoline Orchestra with Alex Steurs
The Jazzoline Orchestra started as a jazz combo in 2006. After performing in smaller ensembles for around two years, the idea arose to expand the group into a full big band.
Since early 2010, the orchestra has been officially established as a non-profit organisation in Peer. The Jazzoline Orchestra consists of around twenty musicians and vocalist Jolien Thijs. Their repertoire includes jazz, fusion, easy listening, funk and contemporary big band music. The musicians come from across the Limburg region and have extensive experience in the music world. The name Jazzoline is derived from the English word ‘gasoline’, referring to the fuel that powers combustion engines. Hence the slogan: ‘very explosive jazz’!
