Melanie Sever is a reknowned "Flute Finder". From her destinct experiences in this field, and her knowledge of the modern flute and headjoint industry, she wrote an article on Headjoint Hunting, which is published in Flute Focus and the Dutch flutemagazine "Fluit".
Melanie Sever is a freelance flutist and educator who has performed professionally with the United States Marine Corps Bands.
She studied at St. Olaf University in Northfield, Minnesota, and is currently continuing her flute studies at the University of Minnesota in Duluth.
Her expertise lies in helping flutists find the perfect flute or headjoint. She is well known for her excellent ear, personalized guidance, and her deep knowledge of the flute industry.
Melanie is an active member of AFM Local 18, the National Flute Association (NFA), the Upper Midwest Flute Association (UMFA), the National Association for Music Education (MENC / MMEA), and the Minnesota Band Director’s Association (MBDA).
