Crown Prince visits Adams
10 February 2011
His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange paid a working visit to Adams Musical Instruments in Ittervoort on Thursday.
This company won the King Willem I Award in 2010 in the small and medium-sized enterprise category. Adams manufactures wind instruments and percussion that are sold worldwide. Upon arrival, the Prince was musically welcomed by the company's 'house orchestra' and then received an extensive tour of the company, where he also spoke with guests and employees. Adams develops its musical instruments in close cooperation with top musicians from around the world. From its headquarters in Ittervoort, Adams exports 98% of its production. The business award is presented biennially by the King Willem I Foundation, of which the Prince has been honorary chairman since 2002. Nominated companies are judged on courage, decisiveness, sustainability, perseverance, and innovation. The foundation and the award were established in 1958 by De Nederlandsche Bank and several organizations linked to the business community. The foundation’s objective is to provide new impulses to the national economy and thereby enhance the image of Dutch business.
