Aldewereld Family Chooses New Instruments
On Saturday, May 3, we had the pleasure of welcoming special guests to Adams Music Centre: the Aldewereld family from Geleen. Father, mother, and their three children came by to pick out new instruments for the young musicians in the house. A truly musical family, who enjoy playing together and solo at home, it was time to provide the children with suitable instruments to further develop their talents.
A horn for Elise
The journey began with nine-year-old Elise, who was looking for a suitable horn. Together, we examined and tested several models with an eye on future use and comfort. The final choice was a Goldbrass Hoyer double horn with a detachable bell, an excellent decision that Elise was visibly happy with. This instrument will allow her to develop her talent for many years to come.
Thomas finds his perfect trombone
Next up was Thomas, who is almost 12. He took his time trying out various brands and models of trombones. In the end, he chose a Shires Q-series trombone with an F-attachment. A powerful trombone with great playability, on which Thomas could easily move from low to high. A perfect match for his playing style and ambition.
Joost opts for a top-class saxophone
Meanwhile, eldest son Joost was speaking with our saxophone specialist. He tried out several alto saxophones and eventually chose a Yanagisawa A-WO20 Elite, an instrument with a bronze body and gold lacquer, known for its warm tone and high-quality finish. A top-class choice for the advanced player.

The children are really enjoying their new instruments. Every day we hear how wonderful they are to play.

Music through and through
After all the instruments were selected, we were surprised by a spontaneous performance by Elise, Thomas, and Joost on their new instruments. It was a beautiful moment that clearly showed why their parents are investing in their children’s musical future. And as if that wasn’t enough, the whole family later gathered around one of our grand pianos, where the mother filled the space with atmospheric piano sounds. The musical genes are undeniably present!
Father Chris doesn’t play an instrument himself, but calls himself the proud audience. And rightly so, it’s wonderful to see and hear how this family experiences music together.
Musical future
We wish the Aldewereld family lots of joy and inspiration with their new instruments. We hope to see, and hear, them again often in the future!
