Adams wins the national enterprise award

Adams Musical Instruments and Stage Entertainment receive the King Willem I Award 2010 from His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange

Adams Musical Instruments and Stage Entertainment have received the King Willem I Award 2010 from His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange. The award ceremony took place at the festive presentation evening in the Royal Theatre in The Hague. The jury praises Stage Entertainment on the one hand for fundamentally transforming the theatre landscape and on the other for their courage to invest in all facilities needed to realize a musical, including the purchase of theatres and offering entertainment education programs.

In the SME category, Adams Musical Instruments from Ittervoort took home this prestigious prize. Adams has a unique business process in which musical instruments are developed in-house in close cooperation with top musicians from around the world. From its 40,000 m2 headquarters in Ittervoort, Adams exports 98% of its production.

The presentation of this special evening was in the hands of Ivo Niehe. Among the more than 300 attendees were many dignitaries: Mr Dr A.H.E.M. Wellink (chairman of the King Willem I Foundation), Minister M. van der Hoeven (EZ), mayors, Queen’s commissioners, and aldermen. In addition, the top of entrepreneurial Netherlands was well represented, including many former winners.

His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange presented tonight the national enterprise award, the King Willem I Award 2010, at the Royal Theatre in The Hague. In the presence of many dignitaries and leaders of Dutch business, Stage Entertainment received the award in the Large Company category. In the SME category Adams Musical Instruments took home this prestigious prize. A report of the evening will be broadcast on Wednesday 30 June at 21.20 on TROS on Nederland 1.

Adams Musical Instruments, specializing in the production and sale of musical instruments, has fully automated and mechanized its production to remain globally competitive, enabling a unique custom instrument to be made within three days. This makes Adams the only company of its kind in the world. The company has a unique business process in which musical instruments are developed in-house in close cooperation with top musicians around the world. From its 40,000 m2 headquarters in Ittervoort, Adams exports 98% of its production.

About the King Willem I Foundation
The King Willem I Award is presented every two years by the King Willem I Foundation, with the active support of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The Foundation was established in 1958 by a number of business-linked organizations and De Nederlandsche Bank. Since 1958 the Foundation has been awarding the prize.

The Foundation’s mission is to give new impetus to the national economy and thereby enhance the reputation of Dutch business. The board includes representatives from: De Nederlandsche Bank N.V., Ministry of Economic Affairs, VNO-NCW, MKB-Nederland, NIVE, Netherlands Society for Industry and Trade, Dutch Quality Institute, TNO, Association of Chambers of Commerce and the Royal Institute of Engineers.
