Percussive
ADAMS DRUMMERSFESTIVAL - 25 march 2012
Jef Verheyden, Bert Van Rillaer and Sam Gevers form Percussive, a percussion trio from the Kempen region that has been shaking up the Flemish percussion theatre for years. 10 years ago they started as participants in “Zonder Handen”, and since then they have appeared on Man bijt Hond, Ketnet, Klara, Milk Inc at the Sportpaleis and the Radio Donna Summer Tours. They have played in many European countries and achieved a top 3 spot on ‘Supertalent’. Meanwhile they have grown into a fixture as a percussion group in Flemish cultural centres. They brought their show “Sjow!” to the theatre more than 60 times and are pleased to bring fragments of this “show” to the drummers festival as well. This will also be one of the last times Percussive plays this show. On October 13 the new performance will premiere, and of course Percussive once again works with Adams for this!
About “Sjow!”:
'Sjow!' is the whirlwind percussion spectacle from the Kempen percussion battery Percussive. Three stage beasts join their passion for rhythmic theatre and bring the house down in their newest show.
Percussive shows that percussion can be music too, and that music is more than sound without visuals. In ‘Sjow!’ tight tempos, fat rhythms and flawless timing are effortlessly combined with humorous acts and top-tier entertainment.
'Sjow!' is the result of seven years of musical commitment. In 2001 Percussive got to work on ‘Man bijt hond’, followed by countless concerts on Ketnet and Klara. The group toured with Radio Donna and Ricard and also reached the finals of ‘Supertalent in Vlaanderen’. With the productions ‘Rhythmix!’ and ‘Rhythm! Brains?’ Percussive was warmly received in various European countries. Even in Belgium Sam, Bert and Jef are still popular guests after more than 300 performances.
'Sjow!' will knock you out!
Percussive plays: Adams drums, Meinl Cymbals
In cooperation with Kras Artists & CC De Werft. With support from the Flemish government.
