Isolde Lasoen (b. 1980) took her first musical steps playing the snare drum in the local marching band. She only began serious drumming at the age of 18. In July 2003, she graduated from the Jazz Conservatory in Ghent. She also plays vibraphone, percussion, and Latin drums. Today, Isolde is experienced in a wide range of musical styles: jazz, funk, hip-hop, pop, salsa, and big band. She has performed at Jazz Middelheim, Montreux Jazz Festival, Rock Werchter, among others.
Currently, she is the drummer for Daan, the Latin / lounge / nu-jazz formation Briskey, the hip-hop soul band Skeemz, and the all-female band Eillie King. Isolde also teaches jazz drums, ensemble, and jazz theory at the music academies of Geraardsbergen and Knokke-Heist.
