Flores, Richie (USA)

ADAMS DRUMMERS FESTIVAL - 01 april 2007

Richie Flores is one of the most respected conga players in the world. Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was inspired by legends like Tata Güines, Ray Barretto, and Carlos "Patato" Valdez. Richie began playing congas at the age of 5.

By the time he was 8 years old, he was already performing professionally. His career took off as a top-tier percussionist while working with Eddie Palmieri and other leading Latin Jazz artists. By his late twenties, Richie had become a seasoned veteran and one of the most in-demand percussionists in the Latin music scene.

Today, Richie plays congas, timbales, bongos, trap drums, and various forms of hand percussion.
