Ton Dijkman was born on August 22, 1955, in Alkmaar, the Netherlands, where he also grew up. He now lives in Limmen, close to Alkmaar. After finishing high school (HAVO), he worked in an office job. Ton originally wanted to become a professional footballer, but after receiving a lifetime ban from the sport, he turned to music at the age of seventeen. There was a youth center band in his neighborhood, and with a few friends, he started playing drums. The moment he sat behind the kit, he discovered he could play naturally.

Ton also plays guitar and sings – he even released his own album titled Street Legal, featuring mostly instrumental tracks along with some soul-inspired songs. He played in various bands, including with Barry Hay and Jan Akkerman, and contributed to the Italian-language albums of Marco Borsato. Ton’s hobbies include driving his vintage car, playing football on the beach, and swimming. His favorite Marco Borsato song is “Oud en afgedankt”.
