René Creemers began his career as the drummer of the Dutch band Blowbeat. The group enjoyed great success, especially in the club circuits of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In 1989, the band released their debut album, titled "Blowbeat". With Dutch singer Margriet Eshuys, René completed three tours and recorded two albums: "In the Wee Small Hours" and "Shadow Dancing". René also played drums on Dutch jazz singer Denise Jannah’s Blue Note release "Different Colours".
As a clinician, René has shared the stage with drummers such as Steve Gadd, Terry Bozzio, Dave Weckl, Steve Smith, and many others. René Creemers is regarded by colleagues, critics, and music lovers as one of the world’s best drummers. His many clinics at home and abroad confirm this reputation. Highlights include Drummer Meeting Koblenz in 1991 and 1994 (earning a standing ovation), PASIC Phoenix 1995 (another standing ovation), and PASIC London 1996. In February 2000, René co-founded The Drumbassadors with Wim de Vries. Today, they perform all over the world and attract both drummers and non-drummers alike. A major highlight was their performance at the Modern Drummer Festival Weekend 2003 in New York. In 2002, they released their first DVD, "Drumbassadors Volume 1".
As a teacher, René works at the Arnhem Conservatory and the Tilburg Rock Academy in the Netherlands. He is also a regular guest teacher at the Drummer’s Institute in Düsseldorf, Germany.
In 1996, readers of a leading drum magazine named him "Drummers’ Drummer" of the Benelux. He was also voted "Best Fusion Drummer of the Benelux" by readers of the Dutch drum magazine in 1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003. His DVD "Drumbassadors Volume 1" was awarded Best Drum DVD of 2003. In 1997, René released the album PARaDOX with bassist Pieter Douma. The CD features original compositions that showcase their musicianship, creativity and mutual trust.
