Jason Bittner – Power and Precision in Metal Drumming

A native of Albany, New York, Jason Bittner studied at Berklee College of Music and spent seven years playing with Stigmata, one of the biggest hardcore bands in the New York scene. In the fall of 2001, he joined Shadows Fall, with whom he has toured worldwide for over a decade.

With Shadows Fall, he released albums such as The Art of Balance, The War Within (debuted #38 on Billboard and Grammy-nominated), Fallout From the War, Threads of Life (Grammy-nominated), and Retribution – one of their most powerful records, debuting in the Billboard Top 40.

Bittner has received several accolades in the Modern Drummer Reader’s Poll: #1 Up and Coming Drummer (2004), #1 Best Recorded Performance (The War Within) and #1 Metal Drummer (2005), and #1 Metal Drummer again in 2006. His book, Drumming Out of The Shadows (with Joe Bergamini), ranked #2 Best Educational Book in DRUM! Magazine's Reader’s Poll.

About his clinic tour, Bittner said: “It will feature play-alongs, free-form playing, educational content, and fun. I’m hoping to share a few Shadows Fall tracks from the new record with fans.”
