Adams Musical Centres - Together in Music

Russ Miller

Monday, September 14th at 3:00 PM! A superior production, excellent tracks, and stunning musicians...

That’s how one reviewer described Russ Miller’s second solo album, Arrival. High praise for a CD featuring ten groove-jazz tracks and seven rhythmic conversations with other percussionists — and a huge compliment for the drummer who, in addition to his albums, has also released two instructional books and three highly successful educational DVDs. Miller also contributed ideas for the Prologix Practice Travel Pad and Stick Bag, the Yamaha SKRM100 Subkick, Zildjian’s Brent Bristle Brush, and other clever drummer accessories.

You might wonder how he even finds time for all those projects, considering Miller has also played on over 300 CDs (with a staggering total of around 26 million sold) and has done drum work for more than a dozen major motion pictures.

Miller’s impressive discography includes collaborations with an incredibly diverse range of artists, from Ray Charles and Cher to Steve Perry, Andrea Bocelli, Al Jarreau, Tina Turner, and Nelly Furtado — a name also found on Pete Lockett’s résumé. That same Lockett is one of Miller’s partners in the Rhythmic Conversations on Arrival, and at the Adams Drumworld Festival, both musicians will perform solo as well as in a unique duo!
