DWF 2026 - Baard Kolstad (NO)
On Sunday 4 October 2026, Baard Kolstad appeared at Drumworld Festival at Adams Music Centre. The Norwegian drummer, known for his work with progressive metal band Leprous, gave a drum clinic in the concert hall. In our Hall of Fame, the photographs on this page look back on his visit.
Kolstad's playing is characterised by powerful grooves, complex rhythmic patterns and a wide dynamic range. He combines speed and independence with creativity and expression, with technical precision always serving the music. Alongside his work with Leprous, he plays with Rendezvous Point and has worked with various artists and bands in the progressive rock and metal scene.
In 2012, Kolstad won the Roland V-Drums World Championship in Los Angeles. He went on to develop his career as an internationally touring drummer, with an energetic stage presence and a distinctive musical approach. At Drumworld Festival 2026, he took the place of Thomas Lang. His drum clinic was made possible by Pearl.
