DWF 2016 - Miloš Meier
Miloš Meier has been one with the drum kit since the age of ten. Back then, he was fixated on the fast technical playing styles of bands like Death, Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth, and at age 15, he founded the band Eclipse of Shadows. During his studies at the conservatory in Prague, his influences began to shift; metal gave way to jazz, fusion, funk, and various other styles. He looked up to drummers like Dennis Chambers, Gary Novak, and Omar Hakim.
Still, metal remained dominant. He recorded the album 'White' with the Czech metal band Tortharry, plays (unmasked) in the masked band Dymytry, and founded the successful Czech metal band Stroy in 2012. In addition to all his metal projects, Meier has also toured with Daniel Landa and runs his own drum clinics called Drumming Syndrome, which also have “concert versions.” Drumming Syndrome features compositions created specifically for the project, supported by Meier’s spoken experiences in the music industry. These days, Meier performs 150–200 shows per year, mostly with top Czech artists.
