...featuring Ron van Stratum & Femke Krone... Exotic vocal lines, rousing Latin jazz grooves and colorful, worldly textures are the hallmarks of this unique band, featuring drummer Ron van Stratum. Vocalist and bassist Henk de Laat (aka Enrique Tarde) lost his musical heart in Brazil. He began his artistic career mainly as a sideman for various groups, but after a while he also needed to express his own creativity. Ron van Stratum has been one of the best drummers in the Netherlands for years. He is at home in all kinds of styles, from jazz and fusion to pop and Latin. As a session musician, he played with Mike Stern, Randy Brecker and Mike Mainieri, and as a regular drummer with Bernhard Reinke’s Xpedition and his own Ron van Stratum Band.

Femke Krone is a special guest of the band at the festival. She is one of the Netherlands’ most sought-after percussionists, from Nick & Simon to André van Duin, from The Opposites to Ivo Niehe and from Freek de Jonge to Rob de Nijs. Krone also regularly performs at major events such as Vrienden Van Amstel Live or X-Factor. She has already performed at Ahoy' more than a hundred times.
