DWF 2012 - Rick van Wort

Rick van Wort

Rick van Wort with band!
Rick has more than enough potential to rise to the top of the Dutch drumming scene.
Tilburg, 013, 2008. Rick made himself heard and convincingly won the first Roland V Drum Contest. Things moved fast after that, and he developed into a strong all-round drummer. This push gave Rick the confidence to find his way in the scene. The personality he developed opened doors that he grabbed with both hands.
Playing a lot, building and maintaining connections has made him, to this day, a highly sought-after drummer.
On stage for Adams Drums during the 9th Drumworld Festival.

Now, every two months they pay tribute to a legendary artist. In 2011, JayZ, Fela Kuti (featuring original drummer Tony Allen), and Jay Dilla were featured. In 2012, they paid tribute to Nina Simone with Renee Neufville (known from Roy Hargrove). Also performed at Rotterdam’s Dunya Festival with Marie Daulne of Zap Mama and in 2012 with Gil Scott Heron's right hand, Brian Jackson.
On 14 September 2012, they released their first album in Paradiso, Amsterdam, in collaboration with Kindred Spirits Label. Their instrumental EP "Re:Encore" features Re:Freshed interpretations of JayZ music.
