Works by Petri, Hogenhuis, Dufeutrelle en Victor Somma.
RESONANCES XXI is a flute ensemble led by conductor Olivier Guion. Driven by a desire to introduce diverse audiences to a unique type of ensemble and an original repertoire—and passionate about contemporary creation—they collaborate with a wide range of composers, soloists, dancers, actors, and visual artists.
As a flexible ensemble, RESONANCES XXI offers an eclectic program featuring new works and rediscovered pieces, experimental projects, spatialized performances, commissioned works, and educational initiatives.
The entire transverse flute family—from piccolo to double-contrabass flute—is showcased across their various projects, such as *Résonances néerlandaises*, *The Day after*, *Prix Vedrarias Musique*, *Our Patio*, *La Danse du Sirli*, *Naruto Strait*, and *Circle*.
In 2023, *Our Patio*—a work commissioned by RESONANCES XXI—inspired an audiovisual creation by Celia Swart and Guillaume Ruscon.
More recently, the ensemble has premiered works by Jean-Mathias Pétri, Didier Schein, Agnès Vrânceanu, Jelle Hogenhuis, and Victor Somma, while placing a special focus on projects featuring low-register flutes.
RESONANCES XXI is currently in residence at the CAEL in Bourg-la-Reine.
