Blowing away
Blowing Away! is an interactive workshop that invites flautists of all levels to explore contemporary flute techniques through improvisation, play and collaborative creation. Rather than approaching extended techniques as isolated effects, participants experience them as a natural extension of the instrument's expressive possibilities.
The workshop is divided into two complementary sessions.
From Interpretation to Creation
Building on the first session, participants work on short, accessible pieces composed by Victor Somma, each focusing on one or two contemporary techniques. These pieces become living musical material. After performing them, the group gradually transforms, expands and reimagines them through improvisation, Soundpainting and collective real-time composition. The written score becomes a point of departure rather than a destination, allowing participants to experience the fluid relationship between notation, interpretation and spontaneous creation.
