Flutemocean
What happens to the tone colour when several alto flutes play together in an ensemble? Does a bass have to be loud? What is the difference between bass, contrabass, subcontrabass and double contrabass when playing together? How does articulation work on large flutes?
We will discuss and play around these questions by first balancing the instrument groups and then letting them improvise creatively. In doing so, we will also experiment with percussive effects, overtones, unison, dissonances, and more or less virtuosic playing. In the final phase of the workshop, we will develop deep carpets of sound, which I will partly conduct in the style of soundpainting.
My aim is for us to succeed, in as large a formation as possible, in creating deep and very deep soundscapes.
