Flute choir & sight reading
Play along in the flute choir led by Rogier de Pijper. You don't need to prepare anything; just bring your (low) flute.
Driven by connection, innovation and education, Rogier de Pijper is a versatile flautist in today's musical world. His musical curiosity takes him far beyond the boundaries of the standard repertoire. With boundless enthusiasm, Rogier explores every conceivable sound possibility of the flute and, through his Flute Colors project, makes these extended techniques accessible to flautists of all levels.
Through a wide range of national and international projects, as well as close collaborations with composers from around the world, he shares his distinctive musical voice with a broad audience.
Rogier is the driving force behind innovative teaching methods and books on flute technique, inspiring a new generation of flautists to think beyond traditional boundaries. He also shares his expertise as a teacher, workshop leader and initiator of pioneering projects. Whether coaching ensembles, developing innovative teaching methods or performing complex contemporary compositions, Rogier effortlessly connects tradition with experimentation.
Together with Mirna Ackers (Noord Nederlands Orkest), he organises pioneering events for amateur flautists. In 2025, for example, they performed their own arrangement of Bach's St Matthew Passion with 150 flautists, two choirs, four soloists and a narrator.
