Masterclass Piccolo - Vincent Cortvrint
Vincent Cortvrint teaches and gives masterclasses in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France, and has participated in various festivals across Europe. He is the solo piccolo player of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and flute professor at the Rotterdam Academy for Classical Music.
After studying with Michel Lefebvre, Cortvrint continued at the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Paris, where he took lessons with Michel Debost and M. Bourgues. He was selected for the prestigious “stage professionnel de musicien d’orchestre.”
Teaching is his true passion. “Deconstructing a piece of music into its smallest parts and putting it back together is a beautiful process,” says Cortvrint. His teaching focuses on body awareness, identifying habits, and learning to listen – both to yourself and to others.
He strongly supports ensemble teaching. “An ensemble lesson can last four hours, but you learn so much more. You learn from others' mistakes and develop real musical sensitivity.” His goal is to help students build confidence to study independently and deliver outstanding performances.
