Aquiles Priester was born on June 25, 1971, in Namibia and moved to Brazil at a young age. His passion for drumming started at the age of four. Inspired by the first Rock in Rio festival in 1985, he decided to fully dedicate himself to music. He gained recognition as the drummer of Brazilian metal band Hangar and later joined Angra, earning international acclaim. Aquiles is known for his lightning-fast double bass technique, technical precision, and progressive metal style. He has conducted hundreds of drum clinics worldwide, released educational materials, and is considered one of the most influential metal drummers globally.
