Saartje Kemps
Saartje Kemps (°1985) graduated from the Beringen Music Academy in the oboe class of Ria Wellens. She also obtained final diplomas in chamber music there. As a second instrument, Saartje chose the piano, for which she graduated in the class of Karien Fransen at the Tessenderlo Academy.
She then studied oboe with Luk Nielandt, cor anglais with Jan De Maeyer, and pedagogy at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Later, she pursued the Manama specialization in oboe with Joris Van Den Hauwe at the Conservatory of Ghent.
Saartje has attended several masterclasses with, among others, E. Abbühl, F. Di Rosa, M. Bourgue, J. Tys, etc. She has performed with various orchestras both in Belgium and abroad, including La Monnaie (Royal Theatre), Brussels Philharmonic, Royal Music Chapel of the Guides, Antwerp Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonie Zuidnederland, and others.
Furthermore, Saartje is a teacher at the music academies of Beringen and Genk, and at the arts secondary school in Hasselt.
