Milan Muzikár

Milan Muzikár (born 1974, Frýdlant in Bohemia) has been playing music since he was six years old. His first recorder teacher was Jaroslav Koutský, a very famous and respected cantor in Liberec.

As a nine year old he started playing bassoon at LŠU Liberec under the direction of Václav Hubálek. He graduated from the conservatory in Teplice in Jirí Spevák's class. During his studies he took part in three national competitions and came away victorious from all of them. He continued his education at the Faculty of Music of the AMU, where his professors were Jirí Seidl and František Herman. He finished his studies in 1998 at the graduate evening, during which he performed a bassoon concert by Ondrej Kukal. This Czech composer composed the piece at the performer's request.

Between 1992 and 1995, Milan Muzikár was a member of the West Bohemian Symphony Marianske Lazne Orchestra. Since 1996, he has been the solo bassoonist of the Symphonic Czech Radio Orchestra. Among his greatest achievements he considers the introduction of Ladislav Simon's bassoon concert together with SOCR and under the direction of chief conductor Vladimir Valek. In 2006, he performed Johann Nepomuk Hummel's Grand Concert in Bratislava, accompanied by the Slovak Philharmonic.Since the beginning of 2017, he has been appointed as director of West Bohemia Symphony Orchestra of Mariánské Lázne, where he also works as bassoon soloist.
