Inoko Isobe
Grown up in Japan with a pianist mother and an enthusiastic music listener father, Inoko started learning the oboe at 13 years old with Mika Komiyama. Since she was 4 years old she had enjoyed playing various instruments starting with the tuba, the piano, and the flute. The oboe was the most difficult instrument she ever tried and was a good match with her competitive personality.
While studying philosophy as a bachelor student in Waseda university she realised that what she really wanted to do in her life is to play the oboe.
In 2016 Inoko moved to London to complete her master degree in music at Guildhall School of Music & Drama with professor Gordon Hunt as a London Symphony Orchestra Scholar.
During her studies, she won Crowther Oboe Competition 2020, also was a finalist of Wigmore Prize, London 2019, and semi finalist in a several international competitions.
In addition to her position as co-principal oboe at Jyväskylä Sinfonia since 2021, she had the privilege to work with multiple orchestras internationally, including Tampere Filharmonia, Finnish National Opera and Ballet, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Brasov State Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra at National Philharmonic of Republic of Moldova. Also performed as a soloist with Jyväskyä Sinfonia, Brasov State Philharmonic Orchestra, and Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra in International Double Reed Festival 2023.
During her free time Inoko enjoys admiring the nature, learning and performing sound healing, and bouldering.
