Esther Forschelen
Esther was born in Thorn and grew up with music in the Royal Harmony of Thorn.
At the age of 16, she began her professional studies at the Conservatory of Enschede. After two years, she moved to the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, where she studied under Jan Spronk.
She successfully obtained her teaching and performing musician diplomas there.
During her studies, Esther was part of the National Youth Orchestra for three years, serving as principal oboist in her final year. She also attended masterclasses with Omar Zoboli and Hans-Jörg Schellenberger.
Additionally, she took lessons from Pauline Oostenrijk and Luc Nieland.
As a freelance oboist, Esther has worked with most orchestras in the Netherlands. For 20 years, she held a position as deputy leader at the Orkest van het Oosten / Phion.
As a soloist, she has performed with various chamber and wind ensembles.
In November 2001, she recorded Rimsky-Korsakov’s Variations as a soloist with the Fanfare Band of the Royal Netherlands Army.
She has also performed as a soloist in works such as Voormolen's Double Oboe Concerto, Bach's Double Concerto, Marcello's Oboe Concerto, and Bellini and Kalliwoda's oboe concertos.
In addition, Esther is active in chamber music with Trio con Abbandono and various other ensembles.
