Elisabeth Hobbs
Elisabeth studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and maintains a busy career as a flutist, teacher, ensemble director, and music journalist.
She is highly regarded for her work with adult flute students.
After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, Elisabeth spent several years in Australia, performing with symphony orchestras and opera companies. She also toured with major productions such as *Evita* and *Les Misérables*, and with the English National Ballet. She is now based in Oxford, England, where she runs a flute teaching practice and works as a sought-after freelance flutist.
Elisabeth is a Powell artist and works closely with Paul Edmund-Davies to organise their Flute Feast courses in France and around the world.
She has been a guest teacher at conventions of the British Flute Society, the Australian Flute Festival, and the Adams Flute Festival in the Netherlands.
In addition to teaching and performing, Elisabeth Hobbs is the editor of *PAN Magazine*, the official publication of the British Flute Society. She is currently writing the authorised biography of Sir James Galway.
